- Best time to go: After 21:00, once most of the bars have actually opened. Go earlier in the evening and you'll find half the shutters still down. It's liveliest from 21:00 to midnight. Go at the start of that if you want a seat rather than a squeeze.
- How long to budget: Two hours is plenty, and that's usually two bars. One drink in each, then move on to the next one.
- Rough cost: Most bars charge a ¥500 to ¥1,500 cover, then roughly ¥600 to ¥1,200 a drink. Bring cash, because plenty of them don't take cards.
