Tokyo Local Guide ("we", "the site") is a digital Tokyo travel guide run by one person. This page explains what we collect, why, and what you can do about it. We keep it short because we collect little.

What we collect

Your email address, only if you give it to us — to receive the free sample places, the occasional email, or your purchase.
Basic, first-party analytics: which pages are viewed, the referring site, and the country your request comes from. We use our own counter, not Google Analytics or third-party ad trackers, and we do not set advertising cookies.
Purchase information: if you buy the guide, payment is handled by PayPal; we never see your card details. We store your email and the license key issued to you.

How we use it

To deliver the guide and the free places you asked for.
To send the emails you signed up for (each one has an unsubscribe link).
To understand, in aggregate, how the site is used so we can improve it.

Who we share it with

We do not sell or rent your information. We use a small number of service providers only to run the service: PayPal (payment), Resend (sending email), and Cloudflare (hosting and delivery). Each processes data only to provide its part of the service.

Video platforms

We publish our own original videos to our own accounts on Instagram, TikTok and YouTube through their official APIs. We do not collect or process the personal data of anyone who watches those videos; that is governed by each platform's own privacy policy.

Your choices

Unsubscribe from any email using the link in it, at any time.
Ask us to delete your email and purchase record by writing to the address below.
